8 May 2001, 13:03  BOE UK provisional adj Apr M0 money supply-STATS and OVERVIEW

London, May 8 (BridgeNews) - U.K. seasonally adjusted narrow M0 money supply rose an unrevised 0.2% on the month in April and an unrevised 7.5% on the year, the Bank of England said Tuesday. The six-month annualized rate was up 7.0% and the 3-month annualized rate 4.3%. After subdued annual growth in December and January, as a result of the comparison with the inflated millennium figures, M0 growth now appears to be settling at a level a little below the 8%-plus levels seen as recently as late autumn 2000. * * * M0 refers to U.K. notes and coins in circulation and banks' deposits with the Bank of England.
