TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Household spending in March rose 1.5 pct year-on-year after a gain of 0.1 pct in February, the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications said. In the quarter to March, spending increased by 0.4 pct year-on-year following a 0.3 gain in the previous quarter to December. In the full year to March 2001, household spending fell 0.5 pct year-on-year following a 1.2 pct decline in the year to March 2000, it said.
