Sharp selling hit U.S. shares Thursday as weak economic data,mainly the weekly initial claims for jobless benefits, raiseddoubts about the recovery and triggered profit taking. The Dowindustrials dropped 80.03 points, to 10,796.65 and the Nasdaqdropped 74.40 points, 3.35%, to 2,146.20.
