London, May 31 (BridgeNews) - U.K. netconsumer credit came in at 1.685 billion sterling in April, well above market expectations of 1.1 billion sterling, and sharply up on the 871 million sterling recorded in March. April's consumer credit was the highest since April 1993. Net lending secured on dwellings, however, was more subdued, at 3.775 billion sterling, slightly below March's 3.812 billion sterling.
