The Redbook Average for U.S. same-store sales rose 0.6% in May
vs. April, according to Instinet Research estimates based on seasonally
adjusted data for the week ended May 26, below the 0.8% target for the
month. The same-store sales index rose 2.3% seasonally adjusted vs. the
same month of 2000, compared to a target of 2.6%. The index also saw a
2.1% increase compared with the same week one year ago, not seasonally
adjusted.
