London, May 3 (BridgeNews) - U.K. house prices picked up in April, rising 1.7% on month and 5.7% on year, according to a survey by leading mortgage lender the Halifax Group. This was the fourth successive monthly rise, and Halifax said the prospects for the housing market over the remainder of this year continue to be positive.
