29 May 2001, 09:46  Japan April labor supply-demand ratio at 0.62, vs 0.61 in March

Tokyo, May 29 (BridgeNews) - The ratio of job offers to job seekers in Japan's labor market stood at 0.62 in April after seasonal adjustment, up from 0.61 in March, the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare said. The April figure was above the average outlook at 0.60 by economists here. The ratio had been in an improving trend after having shown a record low 0.46 in both May and June 1999, but the recent figures indicate such improvement has stopped.
