Paris, May 22 (BridgeNews) - French consumer spending on manufactured goods fell a lower-than-expected 0.8% in April, compared with an increase of 0.9% the month before, itself a downward revision from an originally reported increase of 1.3%, national statistics institute INSEE said Tuesday. A firm rise in car purchases in April failed to compensate for the sharp drop in spending on household goods and clothing.
