Washington, May 1 (BridgeNews) - U.S. construction spending rose a stronger-than-projected 1.3% in March, the fifth consecutive monthly increase. The record total $854.4 billion in spending was boosted by non-residential construction, which jumped 3.4%. Wall Street analysts were expecting overall spending to inch up just 0.2%.
