TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Industrial output in March was left unchanged at a fall of 2.1 pct month-on-month after the figures were revised, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said.
In February, industrial output rose 1.0 pct.
The ministry provided the following month-on-month breakdown of the March industrial data, compared with the previous estimate (and the February comparison):
Output - down 2.1 pct vs down 2.1 pct (up 1.0)
Shipments - down 2.4 pct vs down 2.6 pct (up 1.2)
Inventories - up 0.7 pct vs up 0.7 pct (up 1.1)
The plant utilisation in March was down 1.1 pct month-on-month, while production capacity was down 0.1 pct, the ministry said.
