17 May 2001, 23:24  US FX Review: Euro trims gains as traders look for new leads

By Cornelius Luca
New York, May 17 (BridgeNews) - The euro reversed recent gains versus the dollar and the yen without the support of large customer buy orders that buoyed it Wednesday. The euro fell from a one-week high of 88.81 cents to the dollar.
The dollar slipped versus the yen after failing to hold on to gains above 124.00 in the previous session. Traders are likely to further lighten their long euro and yen positions while looking for fresh factors.
