16 May 2001, 10:27 European stocks see little action as markets wait for Fed
London, May 15 (BridgeNews) - Europe's major markets saw little action
as investors held their positions in advance of the Federal Reserve
meeting scheduled for after the markets closed. Investors said there was a
wary tone ahead of the interest rate decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve.
The Fed was expected to cut interest rates by 50 basis points, although
some analysts had scaled back their expectations to a 25-basis-point cut.
