PARIS (AFX) - Consumer price data in the euro zone, as measured by the harmonised index of consumer prices, are expected to show a year-on-year rise of 2.7-2.9 pct for April, up from 2.6 pct in March, according to economists' forecasts.
Of 22 economists polled by AFX News, 17 forecast April inflation in the 2.7-2.9 pct range. Eleven forecast a 2.8 pct figure, with three predicting a 2.7 pct rate and three 2.9 pct.
Of the remaining five, two forecast a rate of 3.0 pct, two 2.6 pct and one 2.5 pct.
Month-on-month the HICP is expected to be up 0.3-0.4 pct in April after rising 0.4 pct in March, economists said.
The figures are due to be released on Wednesday at 11.00 am London time.
