TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - The March current account surplus was at 1.30 trln yen from 1.31 trln a year earlier, the Ministry of Finance said. The ministry gave the following details, compared with figures from a year earlier:
Current a/c surplus - 1.30 trln yen vs 1.31 trln
Trade surplus - 1.10 trln yen vs 1.28 trln
Exports - 4.68 trln yen vs 4.53 trln
Imports - 3.57 trln yen vs 3.25 trln
Goods, service account surplus - 739.7 bln yen vs 851.0 bln
Capital, financial account - outflow 859.2 bln yen vs outflow 13.4 bln

The ministry also provided the following details for the year to March 2001, compared with the previous year:
Current a/c surplus - 12.1 trln yen vs 12.6 trln
Trade surplus - 11.6 trln yen vs 13.8 trln
Exports - 49.8 trln yen vs 46.7 trln
Imports - 38.3 trln yen vs 32.9 trln
Goods, service account surplus - 6.36 trln yen vs 7.85 trln
Capital, financial account - outflow 8.97 trln yen vs outflow 4.38 trln
