14 May 2001, 09:06 Japan stocks end morning 1.1% down
Tokyo, May 14 (BridgeNews) - Japanese shares ended the morning session
lower led by falling high-technology issues with sentiment discouraged by
declines in U.S. shares Friday. Trading activity was light as investors
adopted a wait-and-see stance before the U.S. Fed announces the results of
the FOMC meeting Tuesday. The Nikkei closed the session below the key
14,000 level, down 157.59 points, or 1.1%, at 13,886.33.
