London, April 9 (BridgeNews) - March's monthly seasonally adjusted M0 growth was revised up slightly by the Bank of England Monday. Growth in M0, or narrow money, came in at up 0.3% on the month and up 8.3% on the year, compared with the provisional estimate of up 0.2% on the month and up 8.3% on the year.
After posting weak year-on-year growth in December and January, of 4.6% and 4.2% respectively, due to distortions caused by the comparison with the Millennium period, when cash was injected into the system to avoid liquidity problems, M0 growth has bounced back to 8% plus levels.
M0 refers to U.K. notes and coins in circulation and banks' deposits with the Bank of England.
The following table gives the changes in M0 money. The data are seasonally adjusted and in percent unless noted. A minus sign denotes a fall.
