Berlin, April 30 (BridgeNews) - German plant and machinery orders in
March fell a real 2% on the year due to sinking foreign demand, the German
Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association (VDMA) on Monday said.
German foreign plant and machinery orders in March fell a real 3% from
March 2000, while domestic orders were 1% higher on the year, VDMA said.

In the January-March period, which eliminates some of the short-term
swings in cyclical business, total orders rose a real 1% on the year, VDMA
said.
During January-March, German plant and machinery orders included a 1%
annual rise in foreign orders and a 1% fall in domestic orders.
