MADRID (AFX) - Producer prices rose 0.4 pct in March from February and were up 3.2 pct from a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute (INE) said.
In a statement, INE said energy prices rose 0.3 pct month-on-month, and 2.7 pct year-on-year. Refining prices were unchanged in March from the previous, but climbed 3.3 pct from a year earlier.
Chemical and mineral prices rose 0.1 pct in March from February and 3.8 pct from a year earlier, while metallurgy and precision tool prices climbed 0.3 pct month-on-month and 1.9 pct year-on-year.
Other manufacturing goods prices climbed 0.5 pct in March from February and 4.1 pct from a year earlier, while consumer goods prices were up 0.7 pct month-on-month and 3.1 pct year-on-year. Capital goods prices rose 0.2 pct month-on-month and 1.4 pct year-on-year, while intermediary goods prices were up 0.1 pct in March from February and 3.9 pct from a year earlier.
