NEW YORK, April 24 - U.S. retail sales at discount,chain and department stores rose in the first two retail weeks ofApril as warmer weather spurred sales of goods like outdoorfurniture and spring clothing, Instinet Research reported in itsweekly Redbook Retail Sales Average on Tuesday. The Redbook Average rose 1.2 percent during the first tworetail weeks in April compared with the same period in March,with many retailers slightly beating their sales targets.
