23 April 2001, 09:32  Japanese consumer confidence falls in March

Tokyo, April 23 (BridgeNews) - Japan's seasonally adjusted index of consumer confidence fell to 40.2 in March from a revised 43.0 in December, marking the second straight quarter of decline, a survey released by the Cabinet Office showed. The unadjusted index for one-person households for March stood at 42.7, down 1.1 point from 43.8 in the same month last year, the office said.
