New York, April 19 (BridgeNews) - The Nasdaq rose almost 5%, extending Wednesday's impressive gains, as investors celebrated respectable earnings from IBM (IBM) and Apple Computer (AAPL), among others. The broader market also rallied smartly, with strength mainly concentrated in the technology sector. The Nasdaq composite index closed up 102.58, or 4.93%, to 2182.02. The Dow Jones industrial average ended up 77.75, or 0.73%, to 10,693.58 and the S&P 500 was up 15.53, or 1.25%, to 1253.69.
