2 April 2001, 11:01 Japan's Miyazawa says yen weakening "too sudden"
Tokyo, April 2 (BridgeNews) - Commenting on the dollar's climb to
above 126 yen, Japan's Finance Minister Kiichi Miyazawa said, moves in the
foreign exchange market became too sudden mid last week. "We need to watch
foreign exchange market moves closely," the minister said. However,
Miyazawa accepted the declining figures in the Bank of Japan's March
"tankan" survey of corporate sentiment released Monday, saying, "it was as
expected."
