London, April 18 (BridgeNews) - The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee voted six to three to cut the key U.K. interest rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% on April 5, the minutes from the monthly meeting showed. Three committee members wanted a bigger 50-basis-point cut. Some of the six-strong majority said that it would only take a little more bad economic news to justify another cut.
