Tokyo, April 16 (BridgeNews) - Sales at department stores in Tokyo fell 0.6% in March from a year earlier to 189.8 billion yen, the Japan Department Stores Association announced Monday. The sales fell on-year for the third month in a row indicating personal consumption remains weak. This data, for which 28 department stores in the Tokyo area were surveyed, are usually the earliest available each month on retail sales.
