ROME (AFX) - Industrial production fell 1.5 pct year-on-year in February, according to the statistics office ISTAT.
On a daily average, industrial production rose 3.0 pct during the period.
There were 20 working days in Feb 2001 compared with 21 a year earlier.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, industrial output fell 0.3 pct in February from January.
Main year-on-year variations in industrial output per sector, were for paper, printing and publishing, up 5.0 pct, while oil refining fell 9.0 pct and the production of transport vehicles fell 8.6 pct.
