12 April 2001, 10:21  GERMAN TRADE SURPLUS GROWS IN FEB

The seasonally adjusted trade surplus was E5.6 bln inFebruary, down from E6.6 bln in January and from E6.2 bln inFebruary 2000, the Bundesbank reported. Seasonally adjustedexports were up 16.1% on the year, but imports were up 19.8%.Earlier, the Federal Statistics Office reported that the non-adjusted trade surplus narrowed in February to DM12.2 bln fromDM13.6 bln in Feb. 2000.
