WIESBADEN, Germany (AFX) - Consumer prices rose 0.1 pct in March from February and were up 2.5 pct from a year earlier, according to final figures from the Federal Statistics Office.
The consumer price index rose to 109.1 in March from 109.0 in January (1995=100).
Western German CPI rose 0.1 pct from January and 2.5 pct year-on-year, while eastern German consumer prices increased 0.2 pct from the preceding month and 2.8 pct from Feb 2000, it said.
The results are based on figures from six federal states and confirm the preliminary figures for Germany released earlier, it said.
