TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Bank lending in February fell 3.6 pct year-on-year after falling 3.7 pct in January, the Bank of Japan said.
It provided the following year-on-year breakdown of lending in February, compared with the previous month:
City bank - down 3.2 pct vs fall 3.5
Trust bank - down 5.9 pct vs fall 5.8
Long-term credit banks - down 11.1 pct vs fall 11.6
Regional bank - down 0.5 pct vs fall 0.6
Second-tier regional bank - down 7.1 pct vs fall 5.8
Foreign bank - up 38.5 pct vs up 26.3
