Paris, March 6 (BridgeNews) - The French government's 2001 budget deficit stood at 50.5 billion francs (7.7 billion euros) at the end of January compared with a deficit of 27.6 billion francs (4.2 billion euros) for the same period last year, the Finance Ministry said Tuesday.
