TOKYO (AFX-ASIA) - Housing starts in February fell 5.9 pct year-on-year to 83,440 units after a fall of 11.1 pct in January, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said.
The ministry provided the following February housing starts breakdown, with year-on-year percentage changes:
Owner-occupied - 30,076 units, down 10.0 pct
Rental - 27,456 units, down 6.0 pct
For resale - 25,211 units, down 1.3 pct
