Frankfurt, March 29 (BridgeNews) - German plant and machinery orders in February fell a real 5% on the year, the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association (VDMA) on Thursday said. German domestic plant and machinery orders in February declined a real 5% from February 2000, while foreign orders were 6% lower on the year, VDMA said.
* * * In the December-February period, which eliminates some of the short-term swings in cyclical business, total orders declined a real 4% on the year, VDMA said.
During December-February, German plant and machinery orders included a 6% annual rise in foreign orders and a 1% increase in domestic orders.
