Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan chose, at a sensitivetime, to avoid a direct discussion of economic and financialconditions Tuesday, instead talking about the thorny problems ofeconomic measurement. Greenspan, in remarks to the NationalAssociation for Business Economics, said it has been difficult foreven sophisticated econometric modeling techniques to keep up witha fast-changing economy.
