The dollar was off its recent highs against the yen at Y122.65/70 and$0.8952/55 at midday in Europe in dull trade. Traders are waiting FederalReserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's speech and US consumer confidencedata. Meanwhile, European stock markets were mixed: the FTSE-100 wasup 0.7% at 5617.4, the Xetra Dax was up nearly 1.5% at 5810.57 and theCAC-40 was up nearly 1% at 5174.77. Asian markets were weaker: theNikkei 225 fell 1.6% to 13,638.33, the Hang Seng was 1.9% lower, SouthKorea was down 2.4% and Taiwan was 0.2%.
