MADRID (AFX) - Total household spending adjusted for inflation rose 5.03 pct in the fourth quarter from the third and was up 5.37 pct from a year earlier, the National Statistics Institute (INE) said.
INE said average household spending adjusted for inflation rose 4.83 pct in the fourth quarter from the third and was up 3.15 pct from a year earlier.
Average household spending on food, drink and tobacco rose 1.74 pct in the fourth quarter from the third and 1.94 pct from a year earlier. Average spending on other items rose 5.76 pct in the fourth quarter from the third and climbed 3.51 pct from a year earlier, INE said.
