23 March 2001, 10:00 European stocks sink on global economy concerns
London, March 22 (BridgeNews) - Europe's largest equities markets sank
as investors continued to pull out of stocks both here and in the U.S. on
concerns the bottom has not yet been hit. In Europe, earnings concerns
that have typically befallen new economy stocks have now spread to old
economy players such as banks. The U.K.'s FTSE-100 index closed down 225.9
points. or 4.08%, at 5314.87.
