15 March 2001, 11:04  European bonds again take lead from equity markets

London, March 14 (BridgeNews) - European debt markets took their lead from the global equity markets as bond fundamentals were thrown out the window. With stock markets across the continent hitting multi-year lows, many debt futures markets traded to contract highs--retreating only as equities recovered. Bond markets gained an added boost in early trade when international ratings agency Fitch placed 19 Japanese banks on Ratings Watch Negative.
