Tokyo, March 13 (BridgeNews) - Japan's economy is not in a deflationary spiral but could enter one if the government is not careful, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda said. To help boost the economy and stock market sentiment, the government is "rapidly mulling" the ruling coalition's economic stimulus steps announced Friday and may ask the Liberal Democratic Party's Tax Commission to accelerate the schedule for tax reform talks, he added.
