12 March 2001, 09:53 US stocks end lower; Nasdaq down over 5%
New York, March 9 (BridgeNews) - The Nasdaq plunged over 5% to a new
two-year low after yet another revenue warning from Intel Corp. (INTC)
sent technology stocks into a nosedive. The broader market also suffered
heavy losses, with a stronger-than-expected employment report adding
downward pressure. The Nasdaq closed down 115.95, or 5.35%, to 2052.78 and
the Dow was down 213.63, or 1.97%, to 10,644.62. The S&P 500 was down
31.32, or 2.48%, to 1233.42.
