28 February 2001, 14:31 BOE MPC STILL WORRIED ABOUT DOWNSIDE RISKS FROM WORLD ECONOMY
The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee is still worried about the
downside risks to UK growth and inflation posed by the global economy
which were the main reason behind the unanimous decision to cut interest
rates in February, according to testimony from several MPC members to
the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee.
