14 February 2001, 18:07  French Nov current account surplus 2.123 bln eur vs surplus 732 mln in Oct

PARIS (AFX) - France's current account showed a provisional, seasonally-adjusted surplus of 2.123 bln eur in November compared with an unrevised surplus of 732 mln in October, the Finance Ministry said. The seasonally-adjusted surplus totalled 26.401 bln eur in the first 11 months of the year compared with 33.712 bln in the same period of 1999. On an unadjusted basis the current account showed a surplus of 1.413 bln eur in November versus 318 mln in October. The financial account showed an unadjusted deficit of 1.639 bln eur. There was a net outflow of direct investments of 3.987 bln eur and an outflow of 4.143 bln eur of investments in securities. Non-residents acquired a net 7.732 bln eur of French securities, while French residents sold 11.875 bln eur of foreign securities. The capital account showed an unadjusted surplus of 64 mln eur in November.
