FRANCE'S FABIUS: GOOD LEVEL FOR EURO AROUND PARITY WITH DOLLAR
Finance Minister Laurent Fabius told RTL radio that a good exchange rate for the euro would be around parity with the dollar. He also said he welcomed the Fed rate cut and hoped there would be a US recovery in the second half. Europe would be the continent least affected by the slowdown but this confidence should be tempered by vigilance. He said French growth could dip to around 3% or slightly less.
