5 January 2001, 10:09 MOF's Kuroda says yen weakening doesn't reflect waning trust in Japan
Tokyo--Jan. 5--Vice-Finance Minister for International Affairs
Haruhiko Kuroda has declined to express concern over the strengthening of
the U.S.
dollar against the yen, saying that current yen weakness doesn't indicate
that trust in Japan's economic well-being is slipping internationally.
Furthermore, Kuroda gave a thumbs-up to the rebound of the euro against
the dollar and the yen.
