Frankfurt--Jan. 31--German plant and machinery orders in December rose a real 16% on the year, the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers Association (VDMA) on Wednesday said. German domestic plant and machinery orders in December rose a real 12% from December 1999, while foreign orders were 18% higher on the year, VDMA said.
* * * In the October-December period, which eliminates some of the short-term swings in cyclical business, total orders jumped a real 17% on the year, VDMA said.
During October-December, German plant and machinery orders included a 25% annual rise in foreign orders and a 6% rise in domestic orders. End
