London--Jan. 22--Most major European bourse held on to gains after a mixed day of trading in which attention was focused on the telecommunications, technology and media sectors. Investors also looked to the U.S. for direction, particularly focusing on how Wall Street would receive the first trading day since President George W. Bush took office. The U.K.'s FTSE-100 index closed up 22.7 points at 6232, Germany's Xetra DAX-30 was down 1.03 points at 6650 and France's CAC-40 closed up 37
