Tuesday by BOJ Governor Masaru Hayami.
* [NIKKEI RISES FOR SEVENTH DAY IN A ROW]. Though down most of the
day, the Japanese stock index recovered at the end to end up 0.31% or
43.30 points at 14,032.42.
* [JAPAN MEDIA REPORT ECONIMICS MINISTER TO RESIGN MONDAY]. Fukushiro
Nukaga alleged to have taken money from a scandal-hit insurer. The move
would be yet another blow to embattled Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori and
increases the political problems for the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
* [JAPAN NOV. ALL INDUSTRIES INDEX UP 0.4% M/M, TERTIERY +0.6%] METI
reports. But the government also revised down its leading economic index
to 33.3 in November from the preliminary 57.1.
* [BOJ WAS MORE CAUTIOUS ABOUT ECONOMY IN MONTHLY REPORT] though it
maintained its assessment that a slow Japanese recovery was underway.
The report came after BOJ said Friday that it would ensure adequate
liquidity to the market, raising hopes that the BOJ would soon cut rates
to 0.
