Tokyo--Jan. 18--Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial and mining production index for November has been revised unchanged to a 0.8% drop from October, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Thursday.
* * * METI has introduced X-12-Arima, replacing X-11, from a release of revised output for March 2000. The new method eliminates the impact of the number of holidays, Sundays and Saturdays and an additional day in February due to the leap year.
In its preliminary production and inventory estimates, METI included data on about 494 products, but its revision includes data on about 42 additional products, which take more time to quantify.
METI also said Japan's capacity utilization stood at an adjusted 98.4 in November (1995=100), down from 99.2 in October.
The ministry also said unadjusted production capacity stood at 98.9 in November (1995=100), down 1.0% on year.
Data on capacity utilization and production capacity are reported only when industrial production figures are revised.
