FRANCE'S FABIUS: FRANCE/EU 2001 GROWTH AROUND 3% Finance Minister Laurent Fabius confirmed his previous forecast for French and European growth this year of around 3%. Domestic demand will be "solid", he said in his traditional New Year's greeting to the press. "Inflation will remain moderate" and real income will be helped by the fall in oil prices and the stronger euro. He said the euro should continue its recovery. "I think the trend we have seen should continue if the economic situation remains good, which is likely."
