New York--Jan. 12--The Nasdaq Composite index declined, although losses were mild considering several high-profile earnings warnings and economic data that indicated the Federal Reserve may not have to cut rates aggressively at its next meeting. The Dow industrials also ended lower as economically sensitive stocks retreated once again. The Nasdaq closed down 14.14, or 0.54%, to 2626.43 and the Dow was down 84.17, or 0.79%, to 10,525.38.
