LONDON (AFX) - The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee is
expected to leave UK interest rates unchanged at 6.00 pct, although
most acknowledge some chance of a cut in the wake of the 50 basis point
rate cut in the U.S.
Nineteen out of 20 economists surveyed by AFX News are looking for
rates to be held, with the remaining one expecting them to be cut by 25
basis points.
According to the median estimate of those analysts polled, the
chance of a 0.25 point cut in the Bank's repo rate is put at 30 pct.
