GERMAN KIEL INSTITUTE: ECB SHOULD NOT CUT RATES
The ECB should raise interest rates, not cut them, in the near termgiven favourable projections for real GDP growth, Kiel Institute ChiefEconomist Joachim Scheide said in an article in the Handelsblattnewspaper. He argued that the projections for the rise in real GDPare "extremely favourable" and significantly exceed the growth rateof potential output which the ECB considers to be 2.25%.
